The West Carleton Community Alliance (WCCA) was formed to defend the character of our rural community. The City of Ottawa and Evolugen Development Limited Partnership/Brookfield Renewable Power INC. have demonstrated that in their records of “public consultation” that our voices,  in opposition to the project, were not considered with the weight they should have been.  In proposing a zoning change from Rural Countryside to General Rural Industrial, our City and this trillion dollar power Giant together de-prioritized clean drinking water, significant increases to noise levels, homes of local wildlife, including well-documented species at risk, an emergency response plan and impacts to natural heritage features.  The WCCA has taken legal action on the communities behalf.
